As we head into the cold weather months it is crucial that those of us with clubhouse access please follow the closing checklist kept near the door the of clubhouse when we leave.

The biggies on the list for cold weather include the following items:

• The clubhouse heater under the window in the front needs to be kept clear at all times. This includes furniture like the rolling chairs. If we forget and leave a chair in front of that thing, we'll come back to a melted chair at best or worse god forbid, a fire. So triple check this on exit.

• We need to make sure the cabinet doors under the kitchen sink in the kitchen and the bathroom door are left OPEN on exit. When it gets cold the pipes will freeze unless the air can circulate to those places.

• The vent on the floor under the station in the meeting hall must kept clear. It blows warm air into the basement to prevent frozen pipes under the main meeting room.

• Coffee machine(s) must be unplugged on departure.

• Doors locked, front AND back. Make sure the outer door in front is fully closed or it will get ripped off the hinges in the wind.

• Shades down.

• Seats and tray tables up and in the locked position and seat belts on for departure. ;-) This last one is was a joke to see if you were still paying attention. If you find a way to do this good on you though.

So, let’s check ourselves before wreck ourselves and enjoy this clubhouse this fall and winter by following these simple rules.
